Additional Concepts

By working on the lessons available below, you will learn essential concepts needed for moving beyond the rules and progress into advanced topics like tactics, combinations and strategies. You will learn how to read and write a chess game with algebraic notation and the different phases of the game: the opening, the middlegame and the endgame (or ending). You will be able to measure your progress by doing optional (but highly recommended) exercises at the end of each lesson.
